The True Story of Ford v Ferrari

One of the thrilling things about James Mangold’s brilliantly directed Ford v Ferrari is that it’s based on a true story. To understand just how specific an actor Christian Bale is, it’s necessary to look at the source of Ken Miles. Like his Dick Cheney, it’s just yet another top shelf performance by Bale. How does he do this one year after Vice? Ford v Ferrari is without a doubt one of the best films of the year, and one that might slip through the cracks if it doesn’t get enough number one votes. I would wager it will be one of the few films that lasts beyond the hype of the season. It’s a keeper.
