The last time Sofia Coppola and Bill Murray worked together it was for Lost in Translation, a film about a very young Scarlett Johansson meeting a very old Bill Murray in Tokyo and finding inspiration for the rest of her life. It was greeted with rapturous reviews, earned a Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor nominations, along with Best Screenplay which Coppola won.
Her latest film, On the Rocks, opens on Apple TV+ in October. It was expected to be one to watch for in an ordinary year. Brought to you by the lovely folks at A24, also starring Rashida Jones and Marlon Wayans. Looks really great. I can’t wait.
