Kaley Cuoco turns in the performance of her career as Cassie Bowden on HBO Max’s The Flight Attendant, but one of her main co-stars should not be overlooked. As Alex Sokolov, Michiel Huisman is a constant as Cassie comes to life-altering realizations about her addiction and her past. He is not just a handsome leading man but a romantic mirage to help Cassie make better decisions.
Throughout our chat, Huisman indicated how difficult it was to dive so deep into Cassie’s subconscious. The pair only spent one night together, but selling that chemistry was easy when Huisman and Cuoco connected in rehearsals. If we think about every time Cassie flashes back to Alex in that hotel room, we are seeing his character through her mind, and she decides how we see that interaction. Figuring out how to modify through the prism of Cassie’s trauma is the most impressive aspect of Huisman’s performance.
Much like the show itself, once you dig a little deeper into Huisman’s performance, the more impressive it is.
The Flight Attendant is streaming now on HBO Max.
