Legendary chef Julia Child was a true American icon.
Despite not learning to cook until her mid-40s, Child changed the face of American cuisine after being educated at Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France. After working with peers for over a decade to publish her first cookbook, Child achieved star status after appearing on a public access channel in Boston, Massachusetts. That first appearance and her subsequent series The French Chef helped bring chefs out of the kitchen and into our homes through the medium of television.
Her impact resonates still today, and directors Julie Cohen and Betsy West explore the life, loves, and lasting legacy of the great Julia Child in their Oscar-shortlisted documentary Julia. They sit down with Awards Daily’s Clarence Moye to discuss their engrossing and enormously entertaining documentary.
Julia is currently available to stream on multiple platforms.
