Awards Daily’s Megan McLachlan chats with 2021 Emmy Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series nominee Jeremy Swift about his character being the domino that causes a lot of pieces to fall in Season 2 of Ted Lasso.
The writing team behind Ted Lasso is sneaky. Throughout the entire second season of the Emmy Award-winning Apple TV+ series, Jeremy Swift’s Leslie Higgins doesn’t have an office or a desk, which becomes a running joke. And yet even though he’s working in closets and anywhere he can plant himself behind the scenes, he’s the catalyst to a lot of the action that’s front and center.
“He instigates an awful lot of major things that happen,” says Swift in a video interview with Awards Daily. “A domino effect that can run throughout the whole series.”
From Dr. Sharon working with the team to Jamie Tartt’s father showing up to Keeley deciding to go on her own, the person who touches upon all of these plot points is one Mr. Leslie Higgins.
Swift and I talked about Higgins’s ability to be attuned to the needs of the club and whether he knows about what’s up with Nate, plus how his relationship has changed with Rebecca over the course of two seasons.
