HBO’s ‘The White Lotus’ Wins Big at the 2022 Primetime Emmy Awards

Mike White’s The White Lotus received five Primetime Emmy wins leading all series during the ceremony, televised on NBC. Following closely with four wins was AppleTV+’s Ted Lasso, which repeats last year’s Comedy Series win. HBO’s Succession, winning three awards in total, won Drama Series.

The evening was marked by mostly repeat winners in the Comedy and Series races, although ABC’s Abbott Elementary made a dent in Hacks and Ted Lasso‘s haul by winning writing and supporting actress. There was also at least one completely out-of-left-field surprise in Liz’s win for Reality Competition Series, beating the expected winner RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Multiple winners included The White Lotus (5), Ted Lasso (4), Succession (3), Squid Game (2), and Abbott Elementary (2).
