2023 Golden Globe Winners: ‘Banshees’ Leads with Three Wins, ‘Fabelmans’ Takes Drama, Director

The Banshees of Inisherin lead the 2023 Golden Globe Awards with three wins for Musical / Comedy Film, Musical / Comedy Actor for Colin Farrell, and for its screenplay. Steven Spielberg’s deeply personal The Fabelmans received two wins for Drama film and for Spielberg’s direction. Everything Everywhere All At Once received two Globes for its performances from Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan.

ABC’s Abbott Elementary led the television field with three wins for Comedy Series, Comedy Actress (Quinta Brunson), and Supporting Actor (Tyler James Williams). It heads into the 2023 Emmy race with significant heat following a strong freshman seasons showing. HBO’s The White Lotus followed with two wins for Limited Series and for Jennifer Coolidge who provided multiple laugh-out-loud moments throughout the night. HBO’s House of the Dragon surprised with a Drama Series win, surprising because the HFPA only awarded Game of Thrones a single award (for Peter Dinklage) across its 7-season run.
