Today, Netflix released the final trailer for its upcoming Leonard Bernstein biopic Maestro. Starring and directed by Bradley Cooper, the film explores the decades-long relationship between Bernstein (Cooper) and his wife Felicia Montealegre Bernstein (Carey Mulligan). It uses segments of Bernstein’s most famous scores and scenes from celebrated stage productions to highlight his undeniable genius while personally torn between devotion to his wife and his need to express his own sexuality. Maestro premiered at the 2023 Venice Film Festival and screened recently at Virginia’s Middleburg Film Festival.
