I could live with that. Strangely enough, the most annoying win for me here would be Eilish (would much prefer a Ken win) but if The Holdovers wins BP then nothing else matters (although I also dig the other wins for Holdovers and Barbie and possibly Poor Things which I haven’t seen yet but expect to like at least stylistically).
Deleted the repeated post, and corrected and edited my OP. I just have to disagree about BAFTA’s influence. Their mission is to predict and influence the Oscars, that is very obvious.
It´s screenplay is surely not the best part of Barbie.
excellent:
1 Poor Things
2 The Zone of Interest
good:
3 Past Lives
4 The Holdovers
5 Oppenheimer
6 American Fiction
7 Barbie
meh
8 Anatomy of a Fall (I’m the only person in the world that doesn’t get it. Huller is great though)
crap
9 Maestro
not seen Killers
Oppenheimer has been a lock for BP for months.
What an utterly predictable Oscar season.
That is my only heartbreak this year.
Absolutely. You can’t comment because you can’t deny it. It doesn’t matter what you think of EEAAO because it is beloved and it is and will be regarded as a masterpiece.
