Moonlight and Loving Deemed Adapted by Academy

According to Deadline’s Pete Hammond, Moonlight and Loving have been deemed “adapted” and not original. That means that Manchester by the Sea becomes the frontrunner to win in original where Moonlight becomes the frontrunner to win in adapted. The Writers Guild nominations will likely clarify this a bit but I suspect that is how it will go onwards towards Oscar night.
