Netflix May titles include Emmy favorites such as ‘Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt,’ ‘Bloodline,’ and the hotly anticipated ‘House of Cards.’
The Emmy eligibility window closes May 31, and Netflix May premieres are stacked with Emmy potential. We have the return of comedies Master of None and Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt, which has never won an Emmy. We have the highly anticipated and mysterious House of Cards Season 5, rumored to be Kevin Spacey’s last big shot at an Emmy for the series. For the The Jinx or Making a Murderer lovers, we have another hot button documentary in The Keepers, which deals with the unsolved murder of a Baltimore nun. Finally, Netflix sprang the return of Bloodline on us at the last possible minute. What does this mean for the Emmy season? Likely another nomination for Kyle Chandler and maybe Ben Mendelsohn. Don’t even get me started on that one.
Check out these high profile Netflix May titles.

Master of None
Best known for his role on the award-winning series Parks and Recreation, comedian Aziz Ansari stars, writes, and directs Master of None, a new Netflix original comedy series loosely based on his own life experiences. Master of None follows the personal and professional lives of Dev, a 30-year-old actor in New York who has trouble deciding what he wants to eat, much less the pathway for the rest of his life. Ambitious, funny, cinematic, and both sweeping in scope and intensely personal, Dev’s story takes him through subjects as diverse as the plight of the elderly, the immigrant experience, and how to find the most delicious pasta for dinner. The show was created by Ansari and Parks and Recreation writer Alan Yang. The series is executive produced by Aziz Ansari, Alan Yang, Michael Schur, Dave Becky, and David Miner. (Series Emmy Nominations: 4; Wins: 1)
The Keepers
From director Ryan White (The Case Against 8, Good Ol’ Freda) comes The Keepers, a riveting seven-part documentary series about the unsolved murder of a Baltimore nun and the horrific secrets and pain that linger nearly five decades after her death.
The series opens with the story of Sister Cathy Cesnik, a beloved nun and Catholic high school teacher in Baltimore who went missing on Nov. 7, 1969. Nearly two months later, her body was found – and, to this day, her murder remains unsolved.
The case returned to the spotlight in the 1990s when one of Sister Cathy’s former students – a woman only known as “Jane Doe” – came forward to share her experience of horrendous sexual abuse by the high school’s chaplain. Incredibly, “Jane Doe” revealed she was also taken to Sister Cathy’s undiscovered body and told, “See what happens when you say bad things about people.” Despite this and testimony from other victims and witnesses of abuse, no one was held accountable, and the story was largely unreported outside of Baltimore.
Through conversations with dozens of friends, relatives, journalists, government officials and Baltimore citizens determined to uncover the truth, White pieces together a story that goes beyond the death of a beloved Catholic schoolteacher to encompass clergy abuse, repressed memories and government and religious institutions that he says “at best, dropped the ball over the last 45 years – and, at worst, covered it up.”

Set in the Florida Keys, Bloodline centers on a close-knit family of four adult siblings whose secrets and scars are revealed when their black sheep brother returns home. Season 3 recently received a surprise Emmy season birth of May 26. (Series Emmy Nominations: 4; Wins: 1)
