Oscar® winners Tim Robbins and Holly Hunter star in HBO’s upcoming Here and Now. The drama series hails from Alan Ball of Six Feet Under fame.
Oscar and Emmy® winner Alan Ball (American Beauty, Six Feet Under) returns to HBO with a new drama series. Here and Now stars Tim Robbins (Mystic River) and Holly Hunter (The Big Sick, a lot of really great movies). The initial plot description seems eccentric and high-minded. With Ball, you never know exactly how that will turn out. Six Feet Under infuriated as many as it entranced. Let’s not forget he also produced True Blood. At any rate, the dramatic series brings two fantastic actors back to television, so that’s a reason to celebrate.
Here’s HBO’s official description:
From Oscar and Emmy winner Alan Ball, and starring Oscar and Golden Globe winner Tim Robbins and Oscar, Emmy and Golden Globe winner Holly Hunter, the show is a provocative and darkly comic meditation on the disparate forces polarizing present-day American culture, as experienced by the members of a progressive multi-ethnic family — a philosophy professor and his wife, their adopted children from Vietnam, Liberia and Colombia, and their sole biological child — and a contemporary Muslim family, headed by a psychiatrist who is treating one of their children.
Here and Now begins its 10-episode season Sunday, February 11, at 10pm ET on HBO.
