Note from Dr Rob: “I have updated/revised the Best Picture sheet included below to reflect a clarification on the rules for first round voting. When the new system was announced a few years ago, the specifics of immediate qualification in round 1 and triggering the surplus rule was vague. From my research this year, I have discovered that it is > 9.091% to qualify for Round 1 (which is Total / 11 rounded up—I used Total / 6 rounded up), and that the surplus threshold is 10% not 20% like it is for other categories. As you can see, not much has changed other than Get Out qualified in Round 1 and Blade Runner made it to a nomination by a razor thin .01 of a vote.”
Here are screenshots of the PDFs for at-a-glance inspection, but the complete charts look much better in their original format.
