First Look: Boy Erased

Focus Features gave us our first look at Boy Erased. Lucas Hedges is Jared, a young boy whose father is the town’s pastor. Russell Crowe and Nicole Kidman play his parents who out him and Jared is forced to attend conversion therapy sessions or be shunned by his family and parish for being gay. As Jared struggles to find himself, the situation forces him to face every aspect of his identity.

The film is based on Garrard Conley’s memoir of the same name. Loving’s Joel Edgerton writes and directs the film which will be released on September 28, 2018.
