Team ADTV’s Predictions for the 71st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards

It’s finally upon us.

The 71st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards will be announced on Sunday, September 22. The ceremony will be televised live on FOX, and like the Oscars before them, there will be no host.

It should be an interesting evening. For every certainty (Game Of Thrones in Drama Series), there are a few other categories that are completely up in the air. Comedy Series appears to be going to The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, but is the Television Academy in a nostalgic mood for Veep? Or will Fleabag stun the world? Will the heart win out over the head in Limited Series and reward When They See Us over Chernobyl? Or will the British voting block push Chernobyl over the top?

Looking back at last weekend’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards, the top contenders look to be Game Of Thrones (natch), Maisel, and Chernobyl. But will the crafts really rule the day? It’s dangerous to predict based on the craft awards sometimes.
