A lot of short films that make the short film shortlist are personal stories, but rarely have we seen something like Vincent René-Lortie’s Invincible. It is not just about a trouble young man trying to find freedom for himself, but it is based on the life of the director’s childhood friends. It’s one of my favorite films on this year’s list.
In an Awards Daily exclusive, René-Lortie chats with Oscar-nominee Philippe Falardeau, who joins the film as a campaign ambassador, about his film. On the film, Falardeau says:
“Invincible is a poignant tale, dramatic yet luminous, crafted with soul and a deep sense of cinema. Vincent René-Lortie is an artist to watch. I’m proud to join his talented team as a campaign ambassador, and hopefully bring this story to a wider audience.”
