Big thanks to Nancy for doing such a nice job covering the Toronto Film Festival this year.  I always look forward to her coverage. Nice job, Nancy.
The TIFF hasn’t really brought out any new Oscar contenders in a big way. As Ebert said on Twitter, the film with the most buzz last week wasn’t even at the TIFF: The Social Network.
The biggest leap forward was Rabbit Hole, at least so far. Black Swan was covered in Venice. 127 Hours and The King’s Speech were covered in Telluride (but solidified in Toronto). Hereafter is still in the race, as far as I’m concerned, what with an Ebert rave and a TIME mag rave. We have The Town, Dirty Girl, Submarine…anything else come to mind?
Next up, we have Brian Whisenant covering the NY Film Festival for us and I think that might be the end of big ones. After that, we must wait for the last minute showcases, True Grit and The Fighter, mainly.
For now I just wanted to give Nancy major props and huzzahs.
