Gran Torino gets its street date on December 17th. USA Today’s Anthony Breznican talks to Eastwood about the film and they have posted some photos, the first photos. Something about Eastwood with a gun. Okay, shoot me. No don’t. What can I say. He looks good with weapons now matter how old he is. Shoot me.
In the interview, they talk a bit about Kowalski, the begrudging neighbor whose racist beliefs are turned – might I say this is coming at a good time. From where I sit things haven’t been this heated since 1968, in terms of race and politics. I was three in 1968 but still. The McCain/Palin ticket, and to a degree Hillary Clinton, have pandered to, catered to the mass of angry whites in this country and things have gotten ugly, very ugly. It’s a good time to visit the darker sides of our nature and there isn’t anyone better suited to the job than ol’ Clint:
“Well, I’m older now. It’s easier to look angrier when you’re an old guy,” Eastwood, 78, says with a laugh.
