Watch Margin Call on Amazon Instant & VOD

An smart indie like Margin Call will sadly never get the wide expansion to saturate multiplexes in outlying towns across the country. Thanks to Nick for reminding us that it will be available on iTunes in a few weeks — it’s listed for preorder now, with an ETA release date of December 20. (Two posts about Margin Call in the space of 12 hours? Yes, it’s that good.)

UPDATE: I’m beginning to think I might be wrong about the iTunes ETA of Dec. 20th. StandAloneMatt has tipped us to the fact that Amazon Instant Video is now offering Margin Call for immediate viewing for $6.99.

How this affects its Oscar eligibility — who knows? Not sure if those eligibility won’t soon need to be refined to reflect the fast-changing realities of distribution options.
