Actor Kirk Douglas was honored by the House of Representatives in celebration of his 99th birthday. The House of Representatives honored his life as an activist and for his role in ending the Hollywood writers blacklist in the 1950’s.
Tennessee Representative, Steven Cohen said, “Kirk Douglas is the type of person we should honor and emulate.” Actor Dean O’ Gorman plays Kirk Douglas in the new film Trumbo, where his efforts to hire Dalton Trumbo as the screenwriter for Spartacus are portrayed.
