Since the nominations phase of the 8th Annual AD Simulated Ballot closed Saturday night, Dr Rob has been working steadily on the tabulations and calculations he needs to create his renowned breakdown charts. Rob decided to push through with the Best Director category first, so that we could reveal your choices before the Directors Guild announces tomorrow morning, January 12th. Take a look after the cut.
Rob ran the numbers through 25 rounds of ballot redistribution, because it was only in rounds 24 and 25 that all the ballots could be allocated into 5 stacks. As it happens, the 5 directors who emerged at the top in the first round of voting are the same 5 that remained at the end of the process. The only significant shift happened when the stack for Ridley Scott moved from the 4th position up the 3rd spot — accompanied a drop for Spotlight from 3rd place to 4th place.

If you have any questions, I’ll try my best to explain the basics and then Dr Rob can come along and give you the correct answer.
