First Look: Jessica Chastain In Woman Walks Ahead

Here’s your first look at Jessica Chastain in Susanna White’s Woman Walks Ahead. The film is based on the true story of Catherine Weldon (Chastain), a widow who leaves behind her unsatisfying life in Brooklyn to pursue her dream of becoming a painter. She heads to the Standing Rock Reservation in the Dakotas with the goal of painting the Sioux Chief Sitting Bull.

Steven Knight wrote the screenplay. The film also stars Ciaran Hinds and Sam Rockwell. Woman Walks Ahead is slated for a 2017 release. Black Bicycle Entertainment are financing and producing alongside Bedford Falls in association with Potboiler. IM Global is selling the international rights at AFM, with CAA handling domestic.

Chastain will next be seen in Miss Sloane which will be having its premiere at the AFI Fest on November 11.
