She is credited with birthing the Oscar watching industry online, for better or worse, mostly worse. She has been covering the Oscars for over 25 years as she raised her only daughter as a single mom. She mourns the passing of her three cats but now enjoys the company of two dogs and many birds. 

She writes every day on Substack for a popular political blog, Free Thinking Through the Fourth Turning, and as a result has made lots of people in Hollywood and online very very mad. So she was “benched” from Gold Derby, the second Oscar site that launched the industry. And for now, she’s enjoying being an outsider. 

She lives in a small town somewhere in California and tries to stay focused on the things that matter while sitting around and waiting to die. No, just kidding. Only sort of kidding. Not kidding at all. 

She is obsessed with various things like mass hysteria witch hunts that drove communities to do crazy things throughout our history. We’re living through one now. Isn’t it fun? No, no one would say it was fun. 

She won a screenwriting contest way back in 1993 (third place) and has a short film on Netflix called The Summer of the Shark.
